Smart Helicopter App Reviews

Works, but takes practice

Some reviewers have had trouble controlling their copter. The instructions fail to note something important: the transmitter must be pointing at the copter to maintain control. I cant report any technical glitches aside from not being able to turn off the light, but it takes practice to fly this for longer than 10 seconds without crashing. Its still fun, but dont expect to be an ace the first time you turn it on

So bad, it made me write my first rview

I have never written a review on an app, but this one is so ridiculously horrible i just couldnt resist. As other reviewers have written, this app simply DOES NOT WORK, and anyone who says otherwise either works for the company or was payed by them. It doesnt matter where you point the antenna, how much you practice, or how much you adjust the tim, the only thing the controller is good for is blasting the copter into the air uncontrollably. On top of this, the transmitter only has a 20ft range... Are you joking?! I can spit farther than that! And i dont know about you, but i wouldnt want a child standing within 50ft of this uncontrollable death machine! DO NOT BUY!! 100% guarantee you will be disappointed... Unless of course you are a junk aficionado. P.S. i would rate this app a 0 if that were an option

awesome

for that person who said it didnt work for the iPod your iPod must be jacked up on my iPod touch 4th generation iPod it works people say it doesnt respond point the sensor at it and dont cover the sensor with your hand it works fine you just have to figure out how to control it❕❕❕❕❕

Works…Kind of

This is a great little helicopter to have but I do have a few little gripes with it: a) The app works with my iPhone 4s but not with my sons iPod touch(4th gen) whom it was intended for. b) It will hover in the air but when you want to move it to the side it wants to spin around instead. c) As others have said, the light switch does not work. The lights on mine are always on and flashing when in use. Would love to see an update that would maybe fix a couple of these issues but I doubt that will happen as it seems the developers havent updated it since last year.

Practice and patience but worth $30

I gave this 4/5 stars because it works, was cheap, but the app needs some tweaking. The throttle control (the one that control the spinning of the blades) is too sensitive. Its was too easy to blast this thing off sky high and hard to throttle down slowly to allow a soft landing. So the landings are a controlled crash, which means its easy to break. I usually completely throttle off when its about 3 feet above me and gently catch it as it falls. Just dont drop your iPhone! But its fun :-)

Fun...just takes practice

I got mine as a gift. Ive had others that were similar that I got from the mall so I had some practice controlling them. This one took a little extra practice since you control it using a flat screen instead of the joystick. I got it down on the first charge and was even able to chase the dogs around a little! Lol The only change Id make is for the throttle to automatically go down on its own when you release it. Also, on others that Ive had that were this size they always say that they are for indoor use only. Maybe thats why some people have had problems? Also, I learned with earlier copters that when it crashes, throttle all the way down unless you want it to break! They can take a little fall but if the blades are spinning when it hits more parts break!

I Hope the Peoples Army is Only this Good

Got mine to work right away on iPhone 4, but thats not saying much. For a micro heli its quite heavy, so climb performance is there but weak. RC helis have yaw (antitorque) control on left stick as well as throttle, and cyclic (fwd-rev/roll left n right) on right. This does not. Only throttle on left, and only yaw and fwd-rev cyclic on right. No left-right cyclic control, so control is very basic. Cannot sidestep right/left - must point nose first then proceed. Neat novelty but Id say save yer $$$$ and buy the great Blade mCX2.

Woooo!

It took only 1 or 2 tries to get it and 5 to 10 times to master it! This is a fun helicoptor and 100 times easyer then any other helis ive had. The light switch doesnt work but whutev. Keep up the great work!

Tons of fun!!!

Really a fun gadget! Works great with both iPad 3 and iPhone 4s. I found control easier on the iPad.

Fun toy

My wife bought me this helicopter. Im not sure what some are complaining about it not working. I was able to get this working after figuring out that the heli and radio arent charges fully until the red light comes on, instructions say its fully charged when it goes off. This mistake makes for some interesting flying as when not fully charged controlling the heli is very difficult. After I got a full charge and used to the touch controls I was able to use fly it much better and maneuver it. It would be nice if the charge held for a bit longer but otherwise its good. Also I dont really know if this is made for outdoors, seems to work better in doors.

Horrible!

Tried instructions for helicopter several times and it does not work. The 1st time the heli flew around by itself and I had no control so I deleted the app and reinstalled it and now it doesnt work at all. This helicopter is a total waste of money

Fun toy

App works for controlling, just need to practice and take it slow at first. My only complaint is that the light switch does not control anything, the light continually flashes red and blue like a cops light. Its not even painted like a police chopper. Other than that it works fine. Bought on groupon btw.

Works great!

Works very well on my iPad and iPhone 4S. Easy to control the heli.

Good but takes time to charge

Good thing I got mine for $30 because my mom had a groupon for it

Hmmm ... Does not appear that the developer reads his reviews?!? I would give the chopper a higher rating, but the controller issue need DE-BUGing! Lots said already about light switch on the App ... Also WATCH OUT - pressing it when app and copter switches are both on often causes the chopper to take of at full throttle and out of control!!! Lastly - flying outdoors ... Little lesson: This is not an RC controlled unit. Radio Controls work outdoors... Infrared ones rarely do (they need walls and ceilings for signal bounce. The sun is a more powerful infrared signal than any remote toy - it take over at will!!! Helicopter itself is one of the sturdiest (and quiet) that I have! However metal frames do tack on weight, So flight time is sacrificed... How bout bigger battery capacity??? Lets fix those BUGS and earn top star ratings!!!

READ PLEASE

Needs just a little de-bugging and the light switch doesnt work, but its otherwise great. Also add something, so you can set the tilt control y-axis center.

Never took flight

This thing just spun in circles on the floor, never lifting off. Trimmer function had no effect on spin. Returning it for refund.

I left negative feedback on this product 3 weeks ago but have to give this item 4 stars now. After returning the helicopter to the moto company, they shipped me a new helicopter which works perfectly. I mustve had a bad helicopter on the first attempt. I Would have rated this helicopter at five stars but the light switch will not turn the lights off and on. Other than that the helicopter works flawlessly. -JW

So far, so good

Initial flight today worked well. The tilt function is cool, bit I find it more difficult than the standard control. The stabilizer bar has come off a few times when landing a bit hard (ok, crashing). Hopefully it will withstand a little abuse.

Crap

Thought this helicopter would be awesome, but it doesnt work. Wont connect to controller
